Breathe & Meditate (online)
Wednesdays – 8 am to 9:15 am
A 75 minutes class designed to open the body and calm the mind. A short Sun Salutation sequence opens the class, to wake up the energetic body and prepare the mind for the Pranayama and Meditation sequence that follows. A deeply relaxing guided Shavasana closes the class. All levels are welcome.
Release & Restore (in person)
Fridays (monthly) – 10 am – 12 pm
Release & Restore is a monthly in-person class that starts with a number of profoundly releasing Yin yoga poses, followed by a Yoga Nidra (guided meditation, lying down). Deeply relaxing, the class is designed to release tension in the body, enhance flexibility and calm the mind. Good for those who prefer a slower pace or those who like to balance their stronger, dynamic practice with a Yin-like practice. All levels are welcome.
Exploring Yoga Saturday Mornings (in person)
If you love yoga and you’d like to learn more about all aspects of the practice, it may seem like the only way to take things further is to sign up for a Teacher Training course. While this can be a wonderful and rewarding learning experience, the time, expense and regulations involved can be a barrier for anyone not interested in teaching. These Saturday mornings of yoga practice are designed as an alternative or as a follow-on study for anyone who has completed a 200-hour YTT. It will run from 9:30 am to 1:30pm on Saturdays.
Each Saturday we meet, we’ll start with teacher-assisted self-practice (Mysore-style). A Pranayama (breathwork) and Meditation class will follow after a tea break, then we’ll have some time for Yoga Theory, Philosophy and/or Asana technique, finishing with a deeply relaxing guided Yoga Nidra.
The idea is that you will spend a whole morning immersed in yoga and leave each Saturday inspired, rejuvenated and relaxed. These monthly intensive sessions with a small group of fellow students will deepen your understanding of yoga and encourage you to integrate a regular practice into your daily life, so you will enjoy the lifetime benefits that will follow.
The Exploring Yoga mornings are for anyone who wants to give more time to a personal yoga practice and learn more about the science and philosophy behind what yoga is and why it works. All you need is a genuine interest in yoga, whatever your level. You may be a seasoned practitioner, a yoga teacher, or new to the practice. It may be that Exploring Yoga will direct you to a Teacher Training course in the future. Or you may have already completed a Teacher Training course and want to continue your studies and devote more time to your personal practice.
Exploring Yoga will take place on one Saturday a month. Sessions will be in person, at my garden studio in Delgany, County Wicklow.
Time: 9:30 am – 1:30 am
Cost: €45
WHAT STUDENTS SAY:
“I signed up to ‘Exploring Yoga’ a relative newcomer to yoga, with the hope of deepening my understanding of the practice (on both a philosophical and physical level). I got all that and more from the course: Ríonach is an incredibly experienced and intuitive teacher, who expertly managed a group with significantly different levels of experience. I found the course enriching and motivating, and it has helped me in developing a more regular and consistent yoga practice, that goes beyond merely practising the asanas. I feel that this course is just the start of my yoga journey and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning more about yoga, but is perhaps not ready to embark on the full 200-hour yoga teacher training, as well as those who maybe have more experience, such as yoga teachers or regular practitioners, who want the space to revisit or further explore certain aspects of the practice.” Molly Joyce, Exploring Yoga student, January – July 2021
